Carol Nguyen, PharmD, BCMTMS, is the Secretary for the National Board of Medication Therapy Management.
Based on Dr. Nguyen’s professional experiences, she provides practical insight for NBMTM. She is a proponent for patient-focused care and people-focused approaches for the pharmacy profession. Her areas of interests are mental health and optimizing patient- and provider-outreach to minimize gaps of care, while promoting integrative medicine.
Currently, she is a Medication Therapy Management Ambulatory Care Clinical Pharmacist at the Bexar County Hospital (also known as University Health System). Previous positions were held at United HealthGroup – WellMed, Walmart, WellStar Regional Medical Center, XperienceTR, and Publix. Throughout her diverse professional experiences, she performed extensive MTM services, including comprehensive medication reviews and medication reconciliations.
Carol earned her doctorate in pharmacy at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She holds a board certification in medication therapy management since 2020.
