Shariq Hamed is an experienced clinical pharmacist and pharmacy leader with a demonstrated history of success in both clinical practice and management. He holds a Doctor of Pharmacy from Washington State University and is Board Certified in Medication Therapy Management (BCMTMS). Shariq has spent the majority of his career at UCLA Health, where he has served as a Clinical Pharmacist and spearheaded several initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, medication adherence, and operational efficiency.
At UCLA Health, Shariq co-founded the Advanced Pharmacist Clinical Intervention Program (APCIP), which significantly improved patient outcomes and medication adherence across multiple specialties. He has led the development and implementation of pharmacy protocols and supervised clinical pharmacists, ensuring high standards of care and operational effectiveness. His ability to foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams has been critical to his success in improving patient care and streamlining pharmacy operations.
In addition to his clinical expertise, Shariq brings strong leadership experience from his tenure at CVS Health, where he served as District Lead and Pharmacy Manager. In this role, he led 28 pharmacies, trained over 200 employees during the COVID-19 pandemic, and ensured compliance with all regulatory requirements. His leadership has been instrumental in driving operational excellence and meeting financial goals.
